30 Days of Music-day 08 - a song that you know all the words to

Lots of Beatles love at the moment. Plus I rocked this song on Beatles Rockband or whatever that game is. My nephews have it and we played it over Thanksgiving. My singing is like that of a chicken being strangled, but this song I got a 99%...and we all know that video games tell the truth.

I AM THE WALRUS.

30 Days of Music-Day 7- Song that reminds you of an Event

The event of Christmas. This is my favorite Christmas song and I listen to it a lot. I won't pretend I just listen to it during the Holidays, I enjoy this song all year.

30 Days of Music-Day 5- A song that reminds you of someone

There are a few songs that remind me of my sister, Mimi. They all make me chuckle, usually because I can't get the image of her as a little girl screaming at anyone who would try to sing along to "her" songs. That's right, all of these songs my sister owned.

Fucking Tuesday

I've been sitting here in a funk all evening. We went on a shopping trip and the skirt I wanted didn't fit and then when I went to make an appointment to get my hair done and they told me TWICE the price they had quoted me. Which leaves me thinking...if I dye my hair myself, can I pull off a full head of PINK (rather than just highlights)?

I've felt just FAT all night. I hate that feeling because usually I'm pretty happy with myself. I know I'm a big girl, but I've also had a baby so I try not to be so hard on myself. Not today tho. No way. It doesn't help that all the pretty spring clothes are making their way out and I want some pretty skirts and dresses (and tattoos...and pink hair...and new shoes...).

Oscar has been awake since 7.30, only taking small peanut naps. Griff and Nannie have been playing with him this evening because i CAN NOT SHAKE THE FUNK.

I asked Griff "What is it with today?"
Griff: "It's Tuesday".
Duh! Of course. Tuesday is always our shit day. Our day when we don't want to do anything and usually want to order take out instead of cooking...and the Chinese is always closed on Tuesday. O the irony.

So yeah....Fucking Tuesday.

30 Days of Music-Day 4- A song that makes you sad.

My friend Magay died when I was 18. Magay was also my sister's Mother-in-law; she was bi-polar and she committed suicide. During the 60's Magay had been a hippie in the truest sense of the word and my hippie-teenager self adored her.

Her funeral was held the same day as my high school graduation. I went to graduation, went home for lunch and then went to the Handlebar to pay her tribute. Her husband had made the urn her ashes were in and her artwork was on display. People took turns telling stories about her. I didn't have any tissues and by the end of the service my shirt sleeves were covered in tears and snot.

My sister and I both loved Ben Harper and we chose this song to be played. I can't listen to it anymore.

30 Days of Music-Day 3- Song that makes you Happy

I was never really a Springsteen fan until I was pregnant. Then suddenly I couldn't get enough of listening to The Boss. Isn't that weird? I think it's weird. When I was pregnant I didn't have a lot of food cravings, but Springsteen and Star Wars I couldn't get enough of. Go figure.

I ADORE this song. If I could set out in the car every single time playing this I would be a happy lady. Unfortunately, my husband does not feel the same way.
